NTL:
Make a card that must be overcharged once in order to play it (just like Black Bind Witch) and has different properties depending on what type or subtype of card you used for overcharge.
For example, card would be played as Character if you overcharged Character card and Ability if you used for overcharge any other type ( or would be played as Mission if you overcharged Human card and Artifact if you used for overcharge any other subtype - if you pick subtype instead of type to be relevant).
Therefore what I want is basically 2 different cards.

When you play Essence of Forest you must overcharge it once with Artifact or Location card.
Essence of Forest takes 2 less damage from Characters with Flying. 

(*)Paired just means its 2 cards stuck together on one card. So it is one card but you have the option which one you want to play.

--- Card Design Challenge Rules ---
1) The Judge appoints a challenge, it can be anything, making new card, redesigning an old one or whatever you wish.

Deal 2 damage to all characters. Until end of turn, target character you control moves to the assault zone and gains +X/+2X and unstoppable where X is the number of characters that have died this turn. Remove all card text from this half of the card.

You may play this card from the graveyard if you have no non-skeleton characters deployed.

This is a card where you can play both halves of it (as long as you only have skeletons deployed). However choosing which one to play first is supposed to be tricky. There are benefits to either, having a consume skeleton down, then giving it unstoppable while buffing its stats could potentially make it very strong. On the other hand, you can do a lot of damage first while making something else unstoppable then play that skeleton afterwards so that it gains more starting stats from damaged characters in play.

When you play Flame Spirit you must overcharge it once.
If you overcharged a Location Flame Spirit becomes a Mission with the text "Whenever a Character attacks your fortress gain 10% completion and Immolate the Character for 3 damage per turn. When completed the Immolation level of all enemy Characters is doubled."
When Flame Spirit attacks a Character any Characters adjacent to them are also Immolated.



Basically you can sacrifice a location to boost your locations defense or you can just put it out as a character and do more offense.
The completion effect of the mission doesn't care about immolation source so you can use other flame strike cards to maximize its potential, like playing 2 of these at once with one as a mission and one as a character.
Didn't really want to do the whole 'paired' thing because of how much text there ends up being, but it should still be basically the same.

When you deploy Infected Phasebot, you have to overcharge it with a character card once.
If that character is an undead with cost 2 or less, create a copy of that undead in your support zone.
If the character is artificial, create a copy of Infected Phasebot in your support zone.
(If the character is both, you may choose which effect triggers. But you will not get both effects.)

If Infected Phasebot is removed from play, take it to your hand instead.

 - If an unlimited card was overcharged, turn all your Unlimited characters in play into 7/7 Infectious Zombies with Infect.
 - If a non-unlimited card was overcharged, all opponent characters become Undead and Poisoned, taking 2 damage each turn.
