[CDC] Equal Opportunity [Closed]
« on: February 26, 2018, 02:08:16 AM »
Make a card that effects both you and your opponent equally that is NOT a board removal (damage, remove from the game, destroy).

Can remove things or damage things not in play if you want. Just no calamity or mass deaths

--- Card Design Challenge Rules ---
1) The Judge appoints a challenge, it can be anything, making new card, redesigning an old one or whatever you wish.
2) All that wish to participate submit their card design. Each participant may only submit one entry per challenge, you may however edit your post as many times as you wish till the deadline.
3) After an announced deadline the Judge decides a winner. The winner then becomes the Judge for the next round, if the winner does not wish to host the next round a runner-up may do so instead.
4) All entries submitted before the deadline are guaranteed feedback, either in this thread or in another detailed feedback thread.

PRIZES
1st place: 3 alt art packs and 3 collection penta packs
2nd place: 2 alt art packs and 2 collection penta packs
3rd place: 1 alt art pack and 1 collection penta pack
All participants who submit an entry will receive a collection penta pack

Heavenly Blessing

Ability
Epic
6 cost

Threshold 10
No characters may die this turn, remove this card from the game.

Kind of an upgraded version of resolute initiative, but isn't one-sided or pre-emptive and can't be re-used, if a character takes lethal damage it goes to 1 health.

The card doesn't help much with doing damage or morale loss, assuming nothing has flying and there's at least 1 character in each defense zone, but of course overseers has flyers to bypass defense and dod has invincible defenders and other morale stuff that doesn't rely on character death.

Even without flying and morale effects it messes with the opponents combat plans and kill/damage effects and gives you a turn to work on board presence and apply other non-death effects.

Game of Thrones
Purity: 1CoV/1DoD
Cost: 6
Type: Unique Ability
Rarity: Epic

Can only be played if you control at least 1 deployed character.
This card cannot leave the graveyard.

Both players target one deployed character they control.

These characters gain +5/+10 and the following text in addition to any text they already have:

Cannot be removed from the game.
If this character dies or changes controller,  you lose the game.
At the end of turn, if this character is not on the battlefield, you receive 10 morale damage.
If this character would be killed by a non-damage source, it instead takes 10 damage.

I assume the opponent (and you) cant move the copy in any other way than to move the original? Also what dictates if its in like front middle back etc. Of the zone its in?

What if your card leaves play? Goes to command zone? Leaves and comes back?

Land of Almost no Return
1p EX - Uncommon
0 Cost
Location

All discarded cards are removed from the game.
Activate: Until the end of turn, this card does not remove discarded cards from the game.

This card supports the discarding of opponents cards. With this card in play you don't have to worry about forcing an opponent Sleeper or Exile to discard cards. You can also disable for a turn the effect of the card if you want to use your own Exile mechanic. You can also disable it when forcing an opponent to discard if at any point you think it is more likely (he/she) has a remove from game effect card.

Also when is the deadline for this CDC.

Does this work for the challenge? It destroys, but effects both equally; and, they can always choose to not destroy. If this doesn't meet the rules: IGNORE THIS POST

Its not exactly equal either, if you choose to destroy you destroy this turn but your opponent has to wait a turn to get to destroy (this card resolves before they get to choose so they end up destroying at beginning of next turn and then you can predict more easily and play protections)

Player will lose a random character due to sacrifice and that would be all - cause his graveyard is empty, there is no revive for that player.
Since I think this is clear (top card is nothing thus it revives nothing), will not include that in my entry description, tho added what will happen for player with both  no characters in play and empty greaveyard.

Im not sure how OP it would be to be able to see every card in your opponents deck. Also you dont shuffle afterwards so you if you are good at memorizing you can know every card they draw after.

Maybe go through your own deck and give an opponent something?

Hummm.... you are right:

Rules Text: At the start of the next turn, each player draw a randon character card from the opponent's deck that costs 4 or less. The drawn cards gains haste AND BECAME ALSO A DEMON.

==

Well the fix is not fabulous but, at least, it keep the main idea.
