Card Design Challenge - Forgotten Powers - Contest Closed


Greetings, fellow card designers.
You all know keywords. Abilities that occur so often that they get a standard word to save text on the cards. A prime example would be flying or charge which have a ton of cards connected to them. However, there are some keywords that don't occur often at all. Time to change that:

Design a card that revolves around an underused keyword!

To make things easier for you, I have made a list of keywords that are currently used for 5 or less cards:
Flamestrike/Immolated
Poison/Poisoned
Opening
Bloodthirst
Plunder X
Unblockable


There are no restrictions on purity or card type. Every entry must revolve around one of these keywords. It is perfectly fine if the card itself doesn't have the keyword, but gives it to other cards (like kyrallic) or interacts with cards that have the chosen keyword (like drag down). Conditional keywords (like reach in killaroo) are also welcome.


I will judge the card to the best of my abilities for:
-Balance (is the card underwhelming/OP or opens up op combos?)

-Creativity (is the card adding something intruiging that we didn't see yet?)

-Flavor (does it fit to the faction it is placed in? I appreciate if cards tie into the current lore, but it is by no means required)




--- Card Design Challenge Rules ---
1) The Judge appoints a challenge, it can be anything, making new card, redesigning an old one or whatever you wish.
2) All that wish to participate submit their card design. Each participant may only submit one entry per challenge, you may however edit your post as many times as you wish till the deadline.
3) If you edit your post you should make an additional post in this thread informing of the edit to make sure that the updated version of the card will be judged. The post should contain the full updated card details as well as a brief summary of what changed from your original submission.
4) After an announced deadline the Judge decides a winner. The winner then becomes the Judge for the next round.
5) All entries submitted before the deadline are guaranteed feedback, either in this thread or in another detailed feedback thread.

Haste

The first time you deploy Fire Dragoon choose one of the following:

Overcharge Fire Dragoon with a Flame Dawn Card. It gains charge and flame Strike 3.

Overcharge Fire Dragoon with a Descendants of the Dragon card. It gains vigilance and the text "This card takes 2 less damage from all sources"

If you do not overcharge Fire Dragoon, it gains +2/+2 when you deploy it.



Flavor Text: To simply become a dragoon is considered a great honor. To die to one is an even greater one.

Edit: Altered abilities to make them a "Toggle" and changed stats to reflect.

Diseased Parasite

Bloodthirst 6
When Diseased Parasite deals damage to a Character, that character becomes Poisoned, taking 2 damage at the end of each turn.



Basic idea is it feeds off its victims similar to consume, except instead of killing the enemy and eating them it infects the enemy and gradually drains their vitality.
By using a high bloodthirst level but low max health it's quite resilient to combat but also quite weak to other sources of damage.
Since bloodthirst doesn't lower current health when it reverts it's possible for the card to be fully healed simply by fighting characters with less than 6 attack.
It's used well in defense, as that way you can poison a decent number of units, ideally their whole assault zone.
Bonus points for using multiple keywords? ;)

When Rolling Ooze dies, deploy 1/1 Slimes in your support zone for each 10 max health Rolling Ooze had before it died rounded down.

What about keywords like Shield or Multistrike or Lives? I feel like those are used not so often I could be wrong though.

This card becomes 20% more complete for each demon you deployed.
If Sigil of Insanity is complete, all deployed demons gain Bloodthirst 2 and all non-Demon deployed Characters are getting Immolated and take 2 damage every turn.

What about keywords like Shield or Multistrike or Lives? I feel like those are used not so often I could be wrong though.

I wanted to give the rarest keywords a chance, so I decided for those which have 5 or less cards associated with them. All the keywords you mentioned have more than that. However,  it is true that in IW the majority of keywords are not used a lot. If I had gone for keywords with 10 or less cards, then it would have about doubled the amount of keywords available for the challenge, including such keywords as enrage, consume, exile and more.
