New possibilities for faction combinations

Basically the idea is we can do more with the 'OR' type cards than just single purity.



The number in the middle signifies how many commanders the deck must have that belong to either of the factions shown.

A '1' card is the same as the current 'OR', only requiring 1 commander of either faction.

A '2' card requires 2 commanders of either purity.
(eg 'OS 2 FD' can be used in OS/OS/ANY, FD/OS/ANY, and FD/FD/ANY decks)

A '3' card requires 3 commanders of either purity.
(eg 'OS 3 FD' can be used in OS/OS/OS, OS/OS/FD, FD/FD/OS and FD/FD/FD decks)


Needless to say this would open up more possibilities for card faction groupings, allowing cards to be used in multiple factions without sacrificing the balancing quality of double/triple purity requirements.

It could be also interesting to have 'OR' type cards that require different numbers of purities, like 1p FD 'OR' 2p OS, that way you have to 'sacrifice' a purity to have that card in a OoS deck.

That idea is very interesting and in terms of creating your own decks it can increase the fun very well.

But when i look at Xi Ascended, i already see a problematic card in 1 purity OoS or DoD. On the long run, balancing those cards out and allowing some sort of creativity but narrowing the space for toxic playstyles/decks is a hard task.

Sometimes less is more - currently the game would maybe be way more balanced with less dominant options provided by 1 purity cards and more dedication to 3x purity decks!

For now, thats one of the things i like in Gwent right now the most. Full dedication to a commander and a faction, but still some different archtypes of playstyles and deckpossibility left. Sure, hard to compare each games with eachother... but just wanted to add that :P

Hey Nato,

That's an interesting idea, might open up new combinations, however, currently we have more pressing issues at hand.

Thanks for your suggestion, ill keep that in mind as we move forward.

you can also do soft purity similar to the new *faction* overcharge cards

like "this card costs 1 less if you have at least 1 *faction* purity"
