Rampant Virus
« on: November 07, 2014, 04:30:50 PM »
This card confuses me. I am probably missing something totally obvious but i cant see the point of turning the opponents cards to undead.

Does it give me an advantage?
Does it give my opponent a disadvantage?

Could someone explain please before I go mad trying to figure it out.

Basically no effect, except a few special cases (such as if you're using Zom-B-Gone or your opponent is using Infected Monk). Probably just there for thematic reasons.
The damage stacks if you have several Rampant Viruses in your Graveyard though, so I guess there's that.

There's also the possibility of future design space (Well, not so much with Sleepers getting cut, but anyway...) We could see future cards that benefit from the opponent's cards being Undead.

Thanks guys! I feel better now i know I wasn't missing something.

I was kinda hoping to gain control of undead cards when they died, that would make it a very worthwhile card to use  :)

As it is, I don't think I will bother with it.

It also denies Artificial/Beast/Angels synergy, since it overrides old subtypes.

NWM, it says "in addition". Yeah, it's worthless.  ;D

Quite possible that Genesis will get at least some undead characters in the future considering the lore.

Other accounts of mine can be found on Spacebattles and Sufficient Velocity.
