Admins for this event:
This is a 32 player, randomly seeded, best-of-three, double elimination tournament. This means if you lose, you will drop to the losers bracket, and have one last chance to fight your way back to victory. It will be played over the course of two days, with the Round of 16, and the Round of 8 played on Saturday October 4th starting at 5pm GMT/IWT and are planned to last 4-5 hours. The quarter-finals, semi-finals, and finals will be played on Sunday October 5th starting at 5:00pm GMT/IWT and are expected to last 6-7 hours. After the finals, there will a decider match to determine 3rd place. If you cannot attend during both of these times please do not sign up. Failure to show may disqualify you from future tournaments.
These times have been chosen in an attempt to give maximum availability to as many players as possible, while keeping the attendance time-frame requirements limited. Unfortunately to keep the timeline reasonable for this tournament we are unable to easily accommodate players in all regions. Future tournaments will likely have different time slots, attempting to give access to different regions as best we are able.Deck Policy:
Your deck must consist only of cards from currently released Core sets; so no Order, no Star Trek, and no Omni cards may be in your deck, or be played at any time. Your Commanders are locked for the duration of the Tournament, and you will submit your Commanders to one of the Admins when you check in. This does not lock you to a certain Purity setup, you are only required to keep the same Commanders. The rest of your deck is subject to change between Games, and between Rounds. If you change your commanders during the tournament, or use a non-Core card, you are subject to disqualification.
Why Commander locked, but not deck-locked or Purity locked? Actual deck composition cannot be properly over-viewed at this time, attempting to regulate it would be highly involved, taxing on the players as well as the Admins, and easily gamed by anyone inclined to such behavior. Commanders are fully visible at all times, and will be made a matter of public knowledge at the start of the tournament. Locking Commanders but not Purity actively encourages the potential of Dual-Purity and Hybrid Commanders to give more tactical options.
Interdimensional Phase Bot - Prone to causing Desync issues, and generally not a focal point of decks.
Evolving Parasite - Prone to bugs that effect the outcome of combat damage to fortress. Bugs have a significant impact on game-state beyond a desync, can cause cause victory/loss.
If you accidentally select a deck for a Game which is Invalid for the tournament, including by having incorrect Commanders, before any cards are played you must inform your opponent and remake the game immediately with a legal deck. Failure to do so is grounds for immediate disqualification. If you feel your opponent is in violation of the Deck Policy, please take a screenshot of the suspected violation and contact an Admin.
You will give your list of Commanders to the Admins at Check In, and the list of Commanders will only be made public once Check In is complete. This is being done so that players who Check In early will not be at any disadvantage compared to those who check in later. Check In:
Check in begins at 4:00pm GMT/IWT October 4th, if you have not checked in by 4:45pm GMT/IWT on October 4th your spot will be given to an Alternate, based on order of sign up. In the event no Alternates are available, the sport will be given to a randomly determined player present who does not yet have a slot. Once you are checked in, and have registered your commanders with the Admins, verify your opponent for the first Round. If you are unable to contact your opponent by the start of the Round, please contact an Admin. If you are 15 minutes late to your Match you forfeit Game 1 of that Match. If you are 30 Minutes late to your Match you forfeit the Match. If will be unable to make your match on time, please inform an Admin.

You will have a brief time (2-3 minutes) to use the facilities, swap cards, ect. between Games. Please inform your opponent if you will be longer than that. If your opponent does not return within 10 Minutes please inform an Admin. Rounds and Reporting:
A Win counts for one point to the winner. A Draw counts as a point to both players. If a players has one Win, and one Draw, the score will be 2-1 and that player will be the winner of the Match. If both players have an equal number of points and a draw occurs, inform an Admin. Unless time dictates otherwise you will play an additional game to determine the winner. If you Win a match, or have a Draw, take a screenshot of the match results screen for your records in-case they need to be referenced later. In case of a Disconnect, or Desync, the players will first attempt to decide if there was a clear winner. If there is no clear winner agreed upon by both players, an additional match will be played instead. If a dispute arises please take a screenshot and contact an Admin. Reporting:
Once you have completed your best of three, the loser will report to the Admins in stream ( www.twitch.tv/Novablue353
) please state your IGN name of you, your opponent, who won and the score. For example, if Charles loses to Vicky, and the score was 2 wins to 1 win, Charles would report in twitch chat “Istarune, Novablue353. Charles vs Vicky: Vicky won 2-1”.
In case a particular Match goes particularly long due to multiple ties or other circumstances, beyond the normal constraints of the tournament, the Admins may invoke Tie-Breaker criteria to resolve the Match.
