That's true - but you can't place the blame for the declining player base on the council - especially since it has been disbanded for over a year now and the new balance team is only two weeks old and focusing 100% on Rebellion.

I quite agree. In no way am I agreeing or suggesting that the problem with the player base is because of the choices of the council. honestly the only one's responsible for the declining player base are the developers and promoters.

Top 100 players probably qualifies as a minimum basic understanding of the game. I think players on the lower end should also be included in the council. But even if not I definitely agree that people should be rotated through. It keeps ideas fresh and new.

See this is a huge misunderstanding of how the balance team (and council) operates. They do not 'generate ideas'. Lightmare does that. They do not design the cards, lightmare does that too. What they do is try and keep Shockwave Giant from being printed, and they fight for weeks to get +2/+2 added to Lance of Jinhai, and they get Wealthy Noble moved to 2 cost, and they get a 2 turn exhaust on Hermit and they get a zone lock on Overcharged Storm.

Also - currently you can be 700 rated and be in the top 50. For reference you do not start losing points for losing games until 1200+. If you cannot achieve a minimum rating of 2200 then imo you do not have sufficient knowledge of the game to be able to analyze the cards and reach any sort of real healthy balance.

To be fair, if the player base was 2-3 times larger, the top 100 wouldn't be where it's at now.

Even with 90% discount its still pure profit!

You cant compare real economic standarts with a digital game, where you can produce fake value just by pressing a button.

You simply compare the money YOU have to pay with the fake value you get. You need to compare they money THEY need, to produce the value. And in case of these bundles, it is rly a low effort so they are maybe even with the 1st bundle they have sold and from that point -> 100% profit, no matter what the price is.

Not true at all. When you sell something, no matter what it is, there's always a theoretical cost. Even if you're selling rocks, (which people do) you still have to go collect them. SO there's the cost of time to make the card and the cost to create the post. There are probably several others in there as well that we can't see from our point of view. So even in the digital age, selling 1's and 0's still costs money to make it happen in some way.

There's no incentive for players who know they can't compete with top players to try. Yodomare should break it into leagues/tiers and award players based on where they place at the end of each season. Otherwise the player pool in ranked will stay small.

I know Mill decks probably wasnt the best example, I tried to qualify it with "mad monk" mill but at that point i was grasping at straws. I meant control decks not mill but I had too much pride to correct myself... (One word, in a page long article and I get this kinda grief for it >__<) Either way I have seen mill decks with control cards like demonize, assassinate, and even some fire bolts, maybe im not so crazy after all!!  :P

It kills me to see these discussions again. It's just like before. speculation of what's going on... I don't know if there's going to be a savior this time around.

Who mentioned liquidation? I just scanned through it all again except orisolves humongous wall of text, and can't see anyone saying anything like that.

You can't just say it kills me to see these discussions again, like we have no right, and its our fault we have invested money, and they can't work to deadlines, or fulfill promises,  not even ones they made to kickstarter backers god knows how long ago. They can't even complete any task unless its done at a snails pace. Don't try and flip it, its lightmares incompetence that's to blame and nothing else.

I'm not defending lightmare, I'm saying it's like last december when so little communication was had that everyone began to speculate what was happening. Which is a huge sign the game is dead or at the brink of death.

Like really. It's the easiest thing they can do...

Easiest thing would be a simple button to continue playing so you don't have to keep clicking play and selecting a deck from the list, instead after a game you can just click "again" or something and start searching for another match.

Hmm... The only thing more annoying than this thread is the fallen momentum of the game.

I left this game for a while for school and work reasons. After getting used to my new schedule I stayed gone out of disappointment for the state of the game. But I've come back because I just can't stay away from this game. I love it. I really do. All I can think about is how much better it could have been by now if they did things a little differently. After reading everything, the game does feel like it's dying again. And I think the community has fallen again. I play much more often now and I'm running into the same players again and not into new players like before. -sigh-

What about the advancement of the game as far as promotion to come and what's going on with the game internally as far as bugs and updating the interface?
