Community Events & Contests / Time for a challenge mission

The time it will take before we will see a challenge mission implemented to the game is somewhere in the ballpark of infinity. But why wait when you can just use the forum. I'm going to post a new topic where challenge missions can be played out. For anyone who wants to try out the challenge, post a message under this topic that you want to participate.

The Challenge can last for multiple turns and the state of the board and the moves that the participant makes should be marked as a spoiler to avoid spoiling the solution for other participants.
How it plays out is that I will post the state of the game and put at the top the player that is taking the challenge and what the current turn is. I will then update the post and the turn number so it will be easy for the participant see the update. The one participating should put at the top the number for the move he is making. Then the participant updates the post and the number for his move to make it easy to see the update. this will continue until the participant wins or loses.

So anyone up for a challenge?

Card Design Challenge – Tinkering Craftsman

In this challenge, design a buffing/debuffing card for Location or Artifact cards. Here are some card examples.

Naturally Occurring Moat
1p WP - Rare
2 Cost
Ability

When played any Location you have in play gains the ability and text of "All opponent Characters can not attack your fortress the turn they are deployed."


Force Field Shield
1p GI - Uncommon
1 Cost
Artifact

Target a Location card. As long as Force Field Shield is in play the target Location has plus 1 Shield.


Anyone can post their card idea before October 7. Have fun creating cards.

1) The Judge appoints a challenge, it can be anything, making new card, redesigning an old one or whatever you wish.
2) All that wish to participate submit their card design. Each participant may only submit one entry per challenge, you may however edit your post as many times as you wish till the deadline.
3) If you edit your post you should make an additional post in this thread informing of the edit to make sure that the updated version of the card will be judged. The post should contain the full updated card details as well as a brief summary of what changed from your original submission.

Suggestions / Some nice ideas for infinity wars

Here are some ides that can benefit infinity wars.

Lets start with one very good idea and that is to add and show a total morale cost of a deck. In the deck builder we have info for things like total number of cards and a power curve on the deck we are building. It would be super useful to be able to see the total morale cost of your deck at one glance. It should not be all that hard to implement. The total morale cost of a deck would be the sum of the morale cost of all characters in command and deck. This info would be very useful as you will be able to see with one number how vulnerable you are to a deck that aims for a morale win.

The next idea is for draft. Some card are removed from draft due to the needing of multiple copies of the card and the unreliability of drawing more than one copy of the card. Here is an idea that can make them a viable pick in draft. Lets say you get Unified Protector or Best Fiends in draft, what if when you pick the card you get two more copies of the card into the deck and skip the next two common or uncommon picks. Or for Unending Drone you get lets say 4 more copies. Of course you could limit the card to only show up for the first X turns when you have not yet picked the card before and if you pick the card it will have a higher chance to show up again than other cards in the same rarity. This could help make these cards more viable in draft.

Add a fanservice faction with appealing art to draw in more players. No wait scratch that idea :P

So what do you guys think about those two ideas?

Card Design Challenge – Expensive And Worth It

Design a character that has a cost in the range of 6-10. The various removal cards in the game decentivize the player from using high cost characters. The character designs need to take removal cards into account and be viable and worth including into a deck.

There is more to the challenge, there are also limitations on the design of the card. You can not use the keywords Haste, Charge and Vigilance. The character can not natively have Untouchable or immunity to death like Devil of Despair.

The card can not have a deploy effect that makes the cards worth achieved after the resolution of the deploy effect, in other word if the card does have deploy effect with quick pay off it needs to have low enough impact for its cost. An example of what not to make would be a stronger version of support drone a 6 cost 2/2 that gives +13/+13, on the other hand a 6 cost version of Nysrugh, The Insatiable would be allowed as he still needs to move to the battlefield after using its deploy effect in order for it to have any value.

Cards will be judged on viability as well as how fun and creative they are. You have to post your card idea before Saturday 8. Have fun creating cards.  :)

The Exiles / Grimmish, Alearem combo does not work.

I had a command of Enyah, Grimmish and Alearem. I killed my own Grimmish on the turn I had selected with Alearem. I did not lose on that turn, but the loss came one turn later. So how is it, is this a bug or is Grimmish supposed to try every turn after leaving to trigger a loss for you. From his text I would think he would only try once giving you a loss after leaving.

Cult of Verore / Death Blast

What if Death Blast would only deal damage using characters with cost 2 or higher? That way rita tokens won't fuel the card and the CoV player will need to use more characters insted of just token spamming. It won't stop all types of tokens from working with the card, but at least I would consider it an improvement to the card to encourage more character based CoV decks. What are other players thought on the card and this idea?

I'm sure most can see how you don't have to carefully think about whether or not to put your characters onto the battlefield for 3 purity SoA. And that is due to Hehkeem bringing them all back. I would like to see something else than just throw everything out and then Hehkeem for 3 purity SoA.

One Idea I had for Hehkeem: When deployed target a 3 cost or less character in your graveyard, all characters in your graveyard with the same name as target character are raised to your Support Zone.

This way you can't just bring all your characters back unless you have only one type of character in the graveyard. Now Unlimited cards will benefit more from Hehkeem and there would be more of a reason to run multiple copies of Sleeper of Avarrach in deck. And Conscripted Militia can still work with Hehkeem. No need to make Conscripted any less playable.

What do you guys think of this idea? How would you like Hehkeem to work?

Flame Dawn / Balance 3 cost FD characters.

There are three cards I am going to talk about specifically. Kali, Legionnaire of dawn and Flame dawn purifier. Most of you would already spot one of the mentioned cards being much better. For example could anyone think of a scenario where Legionnaire is better than Kali or Flame dawn purifier being better than Kali, the purifier. And the reason for not using the two cards insted of Kali is that she is almost strictly better. The only restriction she has is unique and that is not a problem for FD as they are not focused on building up an army in support zone, they go on the offensive.

You won't need multiple kali, one in command is usually enough. If you want to play more than one then don't worry she will most likely not live for long if you put her on the offensive and then you can play just another from hand. On the other hand Legionnaire of dawn is just a horrible card. Compare it to Unstable demon, the demon has 1 more power and exile cost 1 but nothing worse than Legionnaire.

I believe that Kali should be at 9 power and that Legionnaire should be at 10 power. The reason being that Kali being a 9/8 with Flame strike 5 will still makes her a good unique character while Legionnaire will now be the only character starting with 10 power among the 3 cost. With this change Legionnaire will be able do things that Kali can't and that is killing a 10 health characters in one go. On the other hand if Kali would attack a 10 health character and another characters is attacking after her, then that character will get damaged or killed. With the change Legionnaire of dawn would fulfill at least some role.

I would also like it if Flame dawn purifier would be 9 power. Kali, the purifier may still look like the better choice but with less difference and the Flame dawn purifier not being unique it may make it a bit more appealing to pick. Would like to hear other peoples thought on this.
