No need to overcharge again. As soon as he is deployed, he gets the buff as if you overcharged. I'm guessing similar cards work the same way.

Bug Reporting / Too many resources
« on: November 04, 2016, 09:42:04 AM »
Alright... got another one for ya.

Opponent is playing a mechborn deck. Has Kali (with 4 health) and FD commando in assault zone and a 2/2 support drone in defense. My board: FD commando in defense and 2 FD hounds in assault zone. I play martyr on turn 5 and he plays scouting mission.

Because my martyr took all the damage, my board stays, his is wiped.

Turn 6:  I play Pyr and fleeting footman and move all characters into the assault zone. And here's where the bug comes in... Opponent plays martyr, FD hound, FD commando, and a random Kali with full health appears in his defense zone. That's 11 resources played on turn 6, along with an invisible Kali. Wipes my board, no coming back from that.

Opponent asked why his martyr died. So he clearly didn't see the same thing I was seeing.

Bug Reporting / Angel's Bane
« on: October 26, 2016, 09:18:27 PM »
Currently, you can deploy Angel's Bane, charge it with an Overseers card, and move a high cost character from your command zone to your support zone (for free). Now, while this makes absolutely no sense, it at least exhausts the character you move. You can get a Celestial Dragon on the battlefield on turn 4. :O

I had Ritual of Summoning out and was 80% complete. My opponent played six 3/3 Spirits created from Xi onto the battlefield, which in turn were Mass Death'd.

Now, I was expecting to see a 20/20 demon in my support zone, but instead was looking back at my 80% completed mission still sitting there. The Spirits created by Xi have the text 'Character - Spirit' on them, so I'd imagine they'd fall into the category of 'enemy Character'.

Is the ability, 'remove from the game upon death',  triggered before Ritual of Summoning can detect a character has died? Answers, please.

Match ended with a mass death followed by a word of command on my measly 4/4 master of demons to take it. I was running an Evellee demon deck and opponent was running a variation of valuebots. Tough one!

Suggestions / Ultra Unit wording
« on: July 28, 2016, 11:45:25 AM »
"As an additional cost to playing Ultra Unit, sacrifice a deployed MU 01, MU 02, and MU 03."

If I have 2 other deployed MUs, I should be able to play a MU from hand and sacrifice it that turn, no? Is a card sitting in my support zone not considered deployed? It kinda sucks having to wait an extra turn just to play a 0 cost card.

Hey guys/gals,

Sorry for the delay with the new challenge. I've been in contact with Drew and they'll be working on getting these challenges coming out on a consistent basis. Details will be provided soon.

In the meantime...

For this challenge, design a dual-purity character that utilizes two opposing factions according to the lore (i.e. a character with 1p Soa and 1p Overseers or 1p WP and 1p FD... you get the idea). Learn more about each faction and their enemies on the Wiki.

Winners will be chosen that can unite these enemies in a fun and playable way.

This contest will close June 19th at 11:59 IWT.

From Benionin:

A quick diplomatic breakdown:
FD--At War with: GI. Previously At War With: WP, SoA
GI--At War with: FD, OS. Previously At War with: WP, SoA
SoA--PAW: Everybody
DoD--AW: Exiles, CoV. PAW: SoA. Strained relations with OS
CoV--AW: themselves, Exiles, DoD, OS. PAW: SoA
Exiles: AW: CoV, themselves-ish, DoD, OS. PAW: SoA
OS: AW: WP, GI, CoV, Exiles. PAW: SoA. Strained relations with DoD

I gotta say... this was a bit ironic.

General Game Discussion / Fun combos you learned from Rifts
« on: May 24, 2016, 10:44:31 AM »
I know some people here disagree with me on this, but to me, rift runs are a playground to discover some cool combos you never would have normally thought about. Take my current run for example: my past 3 wins have come from the hands of equilibrium + a hasted kraos the next turn (champion's companion on battlefield). Board wipe.

Sure, I bet you might have used this combo before, but I most certainly haven't seen it. I have a few equilibrium rotting in my inventory that I just blew off because I didn't know how to build around them. Definitely going to have to try them out soon.

Have any combos that you have found from rifts and would like to share?

Suggestions / Achievements
« on: May 11, 2016, 11:14:43 AM »
I wasn't sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I'll ask just in case...

Have Steam achievements been talked about with the relaunch? As useless as achievements are, I really do think they are kinda fun and would provide people a little more incentive to actually play the game, rather than just login and collect rewards (yes, weekly quests would also help with this).

I know there are current milestones in-game already, but those kinda just feel stale at the moment. The current ones could be reworked, however, I'd really like to see more in-game achievements. OHKO an opponent, reduce their morale and HP to 0, win by never attacking, win by not targeting your own cards, etc.

Non-IW Discussion / What other types of games interest you?
« on: April 11, 2016, 06:06:59 PM »
Let's be honest... I probably spend too much time in IW. However, it is the only digital card game I play (I love physical card games/board games, but haven't found a digital one that rivals IW). My other time is spent nakedly roaming around aRPGs including, but not limited to:
  • Dark Souls (my favorite game of all time--the game that really got me into gaming)
  • Dragon's Dogma
  • The occasional Diablo spin-off
  • Popular indie titles like Binding of Isaac, Brawlhalla, etc.

With Dark Souls III right around the corner, I wanted to see which other games you play give IW a back seat?

Not to detract from the all the current alt art discussions (let's keep those out of this thread), but I got to thinking about which alt arts I'd like to see and would consider purchasing if they were released in packs.

In no particular order:
  • Fight!
  • FD commando
  • Rakarl
  • Xac
  • Kali (alt art booty)

I've been playing a lot of constructed lately and noticed something pretty alarming in my matches...

About 40% of the time my opponent's command ran as following: Klore, Kali, Bromich.
Another 40% was like so: Infested Abomination, Mad Monk, Infested Abomination.

The remaining 20% of decks were a mix between all other faction combinations. My question is... why does this happen? Don't you guys get tired of playing the same deck? I try to rotate between at least 7-10 decks any given day to keep my interest piqued. I also refuse to make a mill deck because they are the scum of the earth.  :P

Do you guys run into the same problem that I've been facing? Which decks do you often run into over and over?
