That is, they will use most of the money for other stuff and milk the community for all it goes before leaving again.

Eternal: As above, base game design is flawed; no mana screw/flood protection.

The opening hand is guaranteed to have some Ressource cards and non-ressource cards from pretty much every game I have played so far. Though yeah there is some risk of repeatedly drawing ressources or no ressources afterwards. Or drawing one type of ressource card and another type of playable cards.

Personally I don't mind the occasional mana screw/flodd since in the end it evens out anyway. There are many cards that give ressources or let you search the deck for this or that to help with screw/flood to a degree. Though yeah, everyone gets that occasional loss because they just kept drawing the wrong. (Though that is far from limited to games with ressource cards. Inb4 annoyed memory of the times where you didn't draw the things that could save you.)

I do have to say that I also played the MtG Duels of the Planeswalker games and became rather fond of the series. So maybe that caused me to have less problems with this than others may have.

Though there was apparently an event sometime recently where they had everyone draw 2 cards per turn which helped a lot with the problem from what I heard. There is some whispering that maybe they will implement that fully in the future.

There is also Catamancer, a mobile CCG I plan to try out sometime. Kinda silly but amusing concept, with all cards being cat based. Either pure cat or some weird cat-hybrid, like cat-owls, cat-devils and cat-Cthulhu.

Yeah... too expensive, small effect, only limited to the unlimited character. Now you do have them in almost any Flame Dawn deck from what I remember, but I think that there are other good 1 drops?

Edit: Nope only 1 other? God it has been long since I actually touched this game.

HS is really inferior but it has Blizzard behind, while IW....
I will miss this game, it is my first online TGS, i managed to get every normal cards and invested a lot. Maybe there's a hint of regret to have done it, but not by much.
The thing that i will really regret is to not know what will be the end of the storyline, especially for the Warpath (my favorite faction) after all their hardships.

I recommend Eternal, it is a fun cardgame so far, with interesting mechanics and some cool card combos to be found. Discovered it a few days myself and have fallen in love, great potential there. Had some obvious inspiration from MtG though and has ressource cards you gotta play, so it depends on whether you are okay with that. Not everyone can stand the risk of being mana screwed/flooded.

It depends on what they expect for the price to sell the game. At this point the game IS pretty much dead and they seem unwilling to actually invest anything again. So maybe they will sell it for really cheap to some company who can do something with it? Otherwise they just have the thing lying around without getting anything for it anyway.

Plus, honestly, it is unlikely that anyone will use the Purity system and the other features unless a former fan of the game decides to make their own company with a card game. This game was always rather niche, with a small but dedicated and friendly user base.

I have been observing this game for a while without really coming back. Last time I played was sometime before they full out abandoned so I may not know all the details, but I can tell you that it is pretty unlikely they will answer you and even if they answer, most likely nothing will happen.

The old Community manager Moose left for Skyforge... which I vaguely remember going full pay to win and being pretty dead right now? Well, I hope wherever Moose is he is doing alright now. Well, regardless, that was when things really really started going down. He basically was the main connection to the devs. He acted like the developer team was scared of reading the forum or something.

Whatever, when that happened the company slowly did less and less until they did some collaboration with Yodo. For a while everything looked like it was going to go well. We got some new community managers, regular information on the game development even if it didn't spoil too much... but then things kinda petered out, the hype was gone, nothing happened at all etc....

It is a shame, but I do not expect them to actually do anything in the future. The best we can seem to hope for is them selling the game for cheap to some other company who sees potential.

This game was really great, still is. It is original, not just a copy of other popular games. It has great art, great characters and a wonderful community. God, if only a company that actually knew how to do digital card games took it up.... wish I was rich, then I could just buy it and do it myself.

Huh, I was thinking of checking out the game again after seeing the message with the whole Reborn stuff, but it looks like development is still going as slow as possible.

How are things going card wise currently, any set time for the next card set? Are the 5 card pack sets fairly priced or is the game slowly going the way of Pay to win? I would really hate that. I have very fond memories of IW, and although I got somewhat bored of it, I always wanted to get back to it when it got finally revived.....

Making the new sets only purchasable is a really bad idea imagine oppression. Only the people who paid money would be allowed klore, counting the days and rally and such.

Well they could still buy their packs after the release date they just wouldnt be plat but they would have the same amount of cards.

Wow, that would really suck and make Platinum Cards much more rare.

That is if every Player in Ranked only has 1 Smurf.

Log in Every Day even if you don't plan on playing right now. It isn't that much, but sooner or later the daily rewards stack up. Just got a Hidden in Clouds (Epic) in a 3-Card Mini-Booster pack today.

do you know how much ip will you get for going 0-3 in the new system?
no, you have no idea. you assume something, and you don't even bother sharing said assumption.

do you really think that poor guy going 0-3 over and over again and spending all of his hard earned ip, in rifts feeding the sharks. is having so much more fun doing so for 1k ip than for 2.5k?
this 0-3 guy is going to play rift all the time for 1k but will surely leave if it is raised to 2.5k.

Well, we can only assume that we will get the same IP rewards unless the devs tell us otherwise. Otherwise any form of critique becomes meaningless as we don't know if the devs make further changes without telling us.

I mean, I do you think that they would Change the IP rewards without telling us beforehand? Wouldn't they actually tell us right away? And if they just give more IP.... then why even make it more expensive? What is the Point in making something more expensive, then giving us the same amount back? It makes the raise in pricing Kind of pointless....



Anyone see a mistake in this calculation? (And yes, this is assuming that the IP reward remains the same.)

I never said the current 1000 IP System is good. I mentioned that I stopped bothering with Rift Runs after the first few tries. It is simply not worth it unless you are good or become good quickly.

Edit: first part assumes Player below Level 20, second one is Level 20.
