News and Developer Talk / Re: The lights are on but is anyone home?
« on: January 12, 2017, 09:14:47 AM »
Hopefully ill be able to share more information soon.

With Drew's continued absence and the fact that you'll be sharing information in the future, can we assume that Drew is gone and the community mods are taking over?

News and Developer Talk / The lights are on but is anyone home?

Drew hasn't posted in just under a month and as far as I can tell there's been no activity from Lightmare beyond posts from the community moderators. Anyone know what (if anything) is going on behind the scenes or has Lighmare just given up on pretending to care?

Thank Interesting_Socks. Just getting a response such as lightmare not working on challenge mission at the moment, but likely working on it in the upcoming months is all I need to hear. It has however taken a lot of time to just get a response on this. Would have been much better to get news on this sooner than after a month.

If it takes a month to get a volunteer mod to answer a forum post, how long do you think it'll take to actually get this implemented?  ::)

Well it seems like the volunteer mods are about a lot more then Drew recently. They'll be using volunteer developers next.

The recent hotfix was in part to improve the queue times, but it got bugged instead, the team is working to fix this bug.

Do Lightmare test the work they do?

it's just too bad they can't be bothered to do the basic things needed to fix it into a marketable package.

Perhaps they don't care? The rumour goes that Lightmare's main (and very profitable) business is actually their educational courses and IW only exists to allow LM to claim they are an actual games company for marketing reasons and getting grants from the government to take in students. It might not be true but it would explain a lot.

I wonder what Drew's excuse is going to be this time.

There won't be a new community manager, Lightmare have given up on IW. Teremus was the only person working on IW when he left.

He used to appear now and then (usually to make ambitious claims about whats coming up and when) but according to the forum he hasn't been active since December. Is he still about?

they used to have people doing big promotions for IW via youtube, streams and etc.

But those people stopped doing it and left the game, for some unknown reason
( possibly drama among the inside community members )

Most of these people who have left the game attribute it to the way LM treated them

Elphie is busy re-writing it to replace all the characters with himself.

Are Lightmare doing/planning to do anything about the de-sync issues?

Fan Websites/Pages / Re: Infinite Network Board Removed
« on: March 31, 2015, 09:35:42 AM »
Because according to Chapmandu nobody from Lightmare checked with him what was happening and they assumed it had closed and deleted the board.

Even if IN was still down, the board had posts explaining why it had gone down so it was helpful regardless.
Perhaps that's why it was deleted?

Saying a job isn't being done isn't the same as saying the person responsible somebody can't do it. It's a professional criticism rather than a personal attack.

A year ago there were at least plenty of twitch streamers, so you had at least the "feeling" the game is alive. Since then overall it looks very disheartening

Not just streamers, but they have also alienated the guy that did Aleata's archive and Infinite Network. If only there was somebody at LM who's job it is to communicate and manage the community...

Well not just a minute ago someone got frustrated with endless turn and decided to go back to another game.  Bugs like endless turn seriously hurt the chances of someone will stay with the game.

The worst part is Lightmare refusing to accept responsibility for this issue. They claim it's because IW is peer-to-peer which is just an excuse. Photon Cloud (the service they use to handle communication between clients) is a well established and is used by thousands of other games without issues.
