All targeted effects have no target restrictions and hit a random target.

Would that mean if I played Yuanshi's Wrath for example all the damage would be sent to a single random deployed character?
Would all of mass deaths kill effect target a single random character?    Would it just kill everything in play?     Would it count the number of cards on the battlefield and randomly choose that many cards to kill?

Unless its specifically just cards that say 'target' but then there's still effects that only apply to specific type of card, could laser cannon try to damage a location?  could vandalize kill a character?

Counterfeit Cards
Factionless
Rare
2 cost
Unique Mission

Exhaust: Select a faction and a premium type (options include default and random), all cards you control (in play or not) gain the selected factions border, become the selected premium type and have their art displayed upside-down until the end of the game.

"Dude, look how many holographics I've got!"

Aside from messing around with the purely cosmetic qualities of the cards for puffies and giggles it would also let people see how it would look to have a full premium deck.

Design a card that is “useless” or non-advantageous yet very cool to play during a match.

We all know how useless Puffy the goldfish is! Yet I love using him, torturing him with new card combos and experiments, but most of all, taking my sweet sweet time beating him. Maybe that’s just me.
Regardless, that lovable fish gave me the idea for this next challenge.

Non-advantageous in this case means to not give a player advantage over another.
The card can be any card type or purity. Free range!
The card should not be annoying in that it would make players have a bad experience or ruin a match. That said, the card can have good or bad affects (advantageous or inconvenient for both players) as long as it doesn’t unjustifiably disrupt a match.

If a player during a match finds a way to make use of the “useless” or non-advantageous card, kudos to them, but the card should be designed not to give a player advantage over another as previously stated.

I am curious to see how useless, funny, cool, tragic or even bizarre you can make your card.

Hope you have fun with this challenge,

WolfLionHead

Deadline is May 7th 2018

WolfLionHead's entry

Lucky star
Factionless
Type: Unique Mission
Rarity: Rare
Cost 4

Target a deployed character. After 2 turns that character becomes untouchable and you must select a new one. If you can’t select a new character or any of the selected characters die or are removed from the game, then Lucky star is removed from the game and all your characters lose untouchable.

Design a mission that you want to play, but not complete.

Currently all the missions (aside from kidnapped by demons) just have a beneficial goal on completion and don't do anything else, you put them down and until you complete the goal they're sitting there wasting space, your goal as the player is just to get rid of them.

But what if there were missions that were the opposite?
Ones with effects outside of completion, with more benefit to prevent them from completing, missions you actually want to keep on the field as long as you can.

You could make what is essentially an ability card that you can use multiple times, (pay X, do something, gain Y%) or a timed effect like tome (gain X% each turn) but I'd prefer if the completion method was a little more interactive and something you can try to avoid, though it depends on the effects.

The completion effect doesn't necessarily have to be bad, but you should still want to delay the missions completion as long as possible, if you want the completion effect could be nothing other than the card simply being destroyed and you losing its other effects, in which case you don't need to specify what happens on completion.

Also consider whether or not the card should be unique.

Deadline is the 16th of April.

Virus Dispersal

Unique Mission
Cost: 2

At the end of the turn if there are 9 or more Undead Characters in your Support Zone which were in the Support Zone at the start of the turn, Virus Dispersal becomes complete.
When Virus Dispersal is completed it sacrifices all Undead Characters in your Support Zone, applies Poison 2 to all non-Undead Characters, and all non-Undead Characters on the Battlefield become Undead and are raised to your Support Zone when they die.

"Why are they just piling up like that?"   *BOOM*

Basically just make a pile of undead bodies and blow them to bits to spread the virus all over.

They have to be in support at the start of the turn, so it won't be triggered by units that were just spawned in or raised from the graveyard.

Poisons command zone, turns non-undead characters you own on the battlefield into undead and gives them an extra life, and can steal a bunch of units from the opponent, but requires you to hold back and sacrifice a decent number of units, making you more vulnerable to attack, plus the opponent can hit you with support zone death/damage or forced movement and prevent it from working, basically wasting your turn.

Heavenly Blessing

Ability
Epic
6 cost

Threshold 10
No characters may die this turn, remove this card from the game.

Kind of an upgraded version of resolute initiative, but isn't one-sided or pre-emptive and can't be re-used, if a character takes lethal damage it goes to 1 health.

The card doesn't help much with doing damage or morale loss, assuming nothing has flying and there's at least 1 character in each defense zone, but of course overseers has flyers to bypass defense and dod has invincible defenders and other morale stuff that doesn't rely on character death.

Even without flying and morale effects it messes with the opponents combat plans and kill/damage effects and gives you a turn to work on board presence and apply other non-death effects.

Serpent Monk

3 cost
6 morale
Character - Human

Opponents have -1/-5 during combat.

1/5

"These monks have re-purposed a toxin originally used to temporarily achieve a state of near-death for spiritual purposes, giving them a paralyzing, and sometimes lethal, first strike."

This guy basically does 5 extra damage in combat but then they get 5 health back if they survive, use a balance and he can take out units with 10 or less health, what's interesting is that regardless of what its power is it can kill anything with 5 health or less without taking any damage, even if the opponent has damage reduction/multi-lives/invincible (iirc)

Soul Sucker
1CV or 1EX
3 cost
6 morale
Character - Demon

Whenever Soul Sucker kills a character it gains +X/+X where X is the difference between its attack and the opponents health during combat.
6/5

Sort of pseudo-consume, more effective the less health the opponent has.

Chronotronic Disruption
2 GI
2 cost
Ability

Preemptive

The next ability card your opponent plays this turn does not take effect until the end of the turn.

Can often prevent the ability from working, but even when it doesn't it still helps.

Bloodbath

Epic

Ability

All of your opponent's deployed Characters are moved to the Defense Zone and all of your deployed Characters are moved to the Assault Zone and attack an additional time this turn.
The first time a character you control would die to combat damage this turn instead it survives on 1 health and gets +2/+0.

Shameless ripoff of hidings bloodbath edit 'to the last drop' cus pretty much everything else I could think of atm has been covered, basically just makes sure all your characters will attack a second time if they aren't killed by abilities and gives them a small buff if they take lethal damage.

Design a card which interacts with the opponents deck.

Current examples in the game are Genesis Spy which adds useless tokens to their deck, USS Enterprise which steals a card from their deck and I guess Martyr of Chaos which swaps your decks and makes all the cards in their deck cost 10.

That said your card doesn't necessarily have to change the opponents deck or its cards at all, for example you could have a character card that has higher stats the smaller your opponents deck is or the higher the number of ability cards in their deck or something.

Card can be whatever type you want and have whatever effect you want as long as it either affects or reacts to the cards in your opponents deck in some way.

Deadline is the 23rd of Jan.

Bug Reporting / Re: Forum Load time issues
« on: December 18, 2017, 02:01:54 AM »
Not sure if the issue is happening again or if the forums are just super slow for me right now, but the whole time it's loading I get the 'waiting for aletasarchive' message, that embedded link to the script is still there and I get error messages about failing to load the script.

Either way the aletas archive link really should be removed, or replaced.

I still have that prototype infinite network script if the person with control over the forum template wants it (https://pastebin.com/TmTp1GhK) all they'd have to do is save that as a js file and change the link to the new file instead of aletasarchive.
