Title: Weekly Post #26: Upcoming Patch & Ranked Reset
Post by: DrewUniverse on September 30, 2016, 10:14:33 PM
Hey party people! This week the date is being announced for our next patch, along with the status of ranked season resets.

Ranked Reset Reminder

The reset will happen today as previously mentioned in last week’s update. The top 100 leaderboard will be frozen at 11:59pm IWT. Most of the prizes will be automated, but Infinity-border cards will be manually sent out by me. I will contact everyone in the top 25 to confirm what their IB picks are.

Yodo/LM are considering an in-game method for choosing IB cards, but in the meantime IB picks will have to be manual. We wish to keep testing the one-month reset duration for another 1-3 months before considering other season durations (such as 3-month, by expansion, etc). We have noticed the pros and cons offered by various community members, and will revisit this topic after we have tested the 1-month reset format a bit more.

Patch Day Coming!

The next patch is expected to launch on October 11th, 2016. The patch will include the return of Daily Missions, as well as Rebellion Wave 3. Preliminary patch notes will be released as soon as they are available. Additional bug fixes are also expected, but there is a chance they may come earlier via a hotfix. A few notes about patch contents:

Up Next

We are in the final stages of designing the DoD faction trial, and working on the script for the next campaign after it as well. Both sets are expected to be of comparable length to the existing faction campaigns, at about five missions. Starter decks will also be included as rewards for completing those campaign trials.

More news next week!

We gave a previous reminder last week as well. This was more about remarking the event, and that the next "season" will be one month in duration as well.

Should rename Weekly Post to Memo. These weekly posts seriously lack content and effort.

I remember when they used to be puffy loads of chapters with patch changes and what not. Now it's a lousy excuse for showing presence.

These news are puffy. Trivial. Boring. Contentlacking. Effortless.

Let me sum them up in a TL;DR version (because that woulda been enough): Patch incoming, following things have not changed YET...

That's it. You seriously think we need a ranked reset reminder as weekly post? THIS IS A FACEBOOK/DISCORD/IWMAINPAGE reminder. Most of the people that care about ranked dont read this and the people that dont care... well they dont care. You are also informing us of an UPCOMING patch NOTICE and inform us that two things are in the process of change discussions.

At this point I don't know if you are trolling anymore. If you dont care about weekly posts or bother putting effort/content into them, then just say it openly. Jesus a simple post saying "We won't do weekly posts anymore". I can understand that and it looks more credible than this piece of garbage.

I already know next week's post content: "Upcoming features: I will inform you about the announcement of upcoming features"

Just... stop. No more please. End this charade.

I actually dont mind this too much... if it were actually weekly. Maybe they simply haven't finished enough projects to be newsworthy, at least they are saying something until something major happens to be announced. But the major issue is these arent weekly. AND they also arent saying much.

People complain when the weekly post is late. People complain that it doesn't have sufficient content. People complain.

I would prefer that the posts are on time, but Im also ok with 1 or 2 days delay if they need the extra time to deliver sufficient content.

If they have nothing to share, I would prefer it if we hear from the devs a bit. Like before when Ian was writing about how they came up with the concept. It wasn't the right time then since we were all concerned with where the game was going but now, instead of puffs of smoke it could be an interesting read more so than the ones where there is so little content. Plus it lets us know the devs are still passionate about the game and still reading and paying attention to the community forums.

When is the next Weekly Post?
When the sun rises in the west, sets in the east when the seas go dry. When the mountains blow in the wind like leaves. Then you will see it, and not before  :(

When is the next Weekly Post?

I guess it depends how you define a week :P some philosophers contend that a week consists of 7 consecutive days in chronological order measured by the rotation of the earth. However Drew has an alternative theory which some scholars describe as lazyness a revolutionary new approach to time management.

I am honestly quite befuddled as to how Lightmare and Yodo1 expect us (their players and customers) to trust either their integrity or professionalism, when they have chosen an unprofessional CM who has demonstrated repeatedly a complete lack of integrity.

Continuing with Drew as the CM is causing a very real damage to their brand, and whatever benefit he is providing to them (none that I can see) cannot be worth the value that a positive reputation can lend to a company. Keep in mind a reputation can follow a company very easily from one game to another, even if both companies choose to walk away from IW at this point, there is a real danger of damage to future projects by their association to this.

At this point I am honestly willing to say that Drew's elevation to CM was the single worst decision in the history of this game - and that is quite a statement if anyone is aware of the checkered history of IW. Any one of the volunteer community mods would do an infinitely better job as Community Manager than Drew has done, and what's more, all of them actually care about IW and genuinely want it to succeed. I don't know Drew's motivations or intentions, but, from where I am sitting, between his continual refusal to communicate with the few dozen people who are engaged with the game, and his abrasive and insulting attitude and comments towards leading players in the game and community, he has demonstrated clearly that the success of the game is not his primary driving motivation.

I'd be a CM - where can I send my resume? I'd love for someone to save me from retail so I can get back to running IW tournaments. It only takes like an hour or two to setup a tournament, leaving plenty of time for, well, everything else.

No seriously, if anyone knows where to send in a resume I'd be happy to do so.

Can confirm Ecliptix's events were actually quite fun back in the day and very well run.

its now 20th October, has it become a monthly post? Not to even mention when I was reporting the bug about ranking system (winner of the match losing rating points) I was treated with hostile comment by the current CM. Sorry for whining like trump.

Why would they ever treat you with hostality?

The current CM has a history of being hostile towards players.

And no history in managing the forum, as answering questions and helping with support or simply by beeing around.
